Albany-Colonie Chamber and Retail Council announce partnership on discount credit card processing (March 7, 2007)
Albany, N.Y. – Members of the Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber of Commerce now have direct access to discounted credit and debit card processing rates thanks to a new partnership with Albany-based Retail Council Services Corp. (RCSC), a subsidiary of the Retail Council of New York State. Chamber members can call immediately – (800) 442-3589 – for a free analysis of their existing credit card processing statements or to begin accepting credit and debit cards at their business.
“We are pleased to offer our members another excellent opportunity to save on the rising costs of doing business,” said Albany-Colonie Chamber President Lyn Taylor. “Taking advantage of the discounted processing rates offered by the Retail Council will assist our members in keeping their operating costs down, while also improving their bottom lines.”
RCSC offers its processing program through Global Payments Inc., one of the world’s largest processors, to business owners throughout the Empire State. In addition to credit card processing, members of the Chamber can purchase or rent low-cost credit card processing equipment through RCSC.
“With an annual transaction volume of nearly $500 million, our program leverages the combined strength of participants to negotiate very competitive processing costs,” said RCSC President James R. Sherin. “We’re pleased to have the opportunity to help the Chamber’s members save on what is, these days, a necessary expense for businesses.”
RCSC’s local presence will be helpful for Chamber members who may need assistance with their processing equipment or who need a knowledgeable expert to answer their questions.
“We at RCSC know how costly it has become to accept credit and debit cards for payment. That is why our ‘Watchdog Service’ experts search for any errors, accidental overcharges or unnecessary surcharges to make sure our clients aren’t paying a penny more than they should,” said Sherin.
