Personal Short-Term Disability Income Protection (after-tax)
If an employee is unable to work due to sickness or injury (including maternity leave), the bills and financial commitments don’t stop coming! The Short-Term Disability Income benefit protects your employee’s income whether the sickness or injury occurs on or off the job. The benefit pays cash directly to the employee to help them maintain their income until they are able to return to work. The cost of this benefit is determined by current earnings and the length of time they choose to be covered.
Personal Accident Expense (pre-tax)
The Personal Accident Expense plan provides comprehensive coverage in the event that an employee or a member of their family is injured and requires emergency room treatment, hospitalization or follow-up care. Benefit payments go directly to the employee, regardless of what is covered by medical insurance. Just as importantly, the benefit can cover transportation and provide lodging for immediate family members if travel is needed for treatment – important details that typical medical insurances won’t touch.
Dental Insurance (pre-tax)
Your employees should go to the dentist for routine, preventative care. Why not offer a dental plan that pays directly toward those periodic check ups and cleanings? This pre-tax plan provides comprehensive dental benefits for your employees and their families, they can choose their own dentist and the benefit covers a full range of dental services and procedures with scheduled payments directly to the provider. There’s even a children’s orthodontics (braces) option! This benefit has no deductibles and acceptance is guaranteed regardless of dental history. There are three different plan options so that employees can choose the one that’s right for them.
Cancer Prevention and Wellness (pre-tax)
With prevention of this dreadful disease in mind, the Cancer Prevention and Wellness benefits pays employees and their family members $75 per person to receive annual screening tests such as mammograms, pap smears and prostrate exams. If cancer is every diagnosed, the wellness benefit will provide substantial payments directly to the employee or family member so they can receive comprehensive treatment while safeguarding against financial loss. Your employee must have major medical coverage individually or through a covered spouse to qualify for this benefit.
Flexible Spending Account
Businesses that carry AFLAC products can also take advantage of a Flexible Spending Account, which allows employees to redirect a portion of their pre-tax salary to provide reimbursement for dependent care and unreimbursed medical expenses, such a co-pays, eye glasses/contact lenses, hearing devices, medically prescribed therapy treatments and more. For Retail Council members, the set-up fee for the Flexible Spending Account is waived.
